Raising the Creative Child...

Lesson 1

Creative children are budding artists. Many times they have an inborn ability to access their emotions, as well as feel for the emotions of others. This can lead to co-dependant behavior that can interfere with their art, if left un-checked. I had the opportunity to work with a talented young actor who was pulling out her cell phone in class to “help” two arguing friends. I encouraged her that this was her special time just for her, to learn about her craft, and that the best help she could be to her friends was to be the best she could be. Though we want to encourage our children to be caring, we also want to teach them to be good stewards of their gifts as preparation + opportunity = success!
